Under the Settings Icon in the bottom right of the chat window, you can change many settings.
You can change your status from Available to Busy or Invisible.
You can look at your chat history.
You can also block people who you don't want to be able to chat with you, you do this on their profile page, this will block them for all your posts and all theirs.
You can also Mute the chat sounds.
